The Tarot is by far the most recognized Divination Tool. No one can confirm the original of the Tarot, but it can be traced back to as the early 1400's in Europe. The traditional Tarot Deck consist of 78 cards, divided into two distinct parts: The Major Arcana ("Greater Secrets") and the Minor Arcana (which uses Wands, Pentacles, Cups and Swords to represent 4 elements of earth.) Today, the Tarot includes the traditional 78 card decks, but also many other types of decks like oracle decks. The Tarot has been a source of inspiration and creativity for artists, writers and popular culture. The practice of reading Tarot as a form of Divination, is to allow the reader communication with the unknown in order to attain knowledge or information for improving situations in life. The purpose of a Tarot Deck when used as an esoteric tool of divination is a positive one: learning and foretelling to enhance human life.
