Durga on Tiger Statue

Depicted in traditional fashion, holding weapons and riding a fierce tiger, the Hindu Goddess Durga is shown here in a splendid design. The resplendent and brave wife of Shiva, she was known for having manifested when evil forces threatened the very existence of the gods. A slayer of demons and a potent representation of the united Gods, she went into battle with the chakra of Vishnu and a trident from Shiva, and was always represented with a meditative smile.
